Flue Cleaner for Stoves and Open Fires

When burning even the driest hardwoods creosote and tar will build up in your flue. As stoves have become more efficient at extracting the heat from fuels, flue temperatures are reduced allowing condensation products to form in chimneys and flues. Flexible flue liners which are un-insulated are at very much greater risk. The chemical ingredients in this chimney cleaner break down the bonds that hold the tars and resins together. This allows the residues to form flakes which fall harmlesly down the flue. The use of this cleaner is in no way a substitute for regular chimney sweeping but it will make the job far easier.  Regular use of the cleaner will protect your flue from the build-up of these combustion by-products.

Pellet stoves and boilers work at high efficiencies and burn off many of the tars and resins in softwood pellets. However, when starting up, combustion residues form on cold metal surfaces. This cleaner will help remove these deposits allowing the boiler to work at even higher efficiencies, therefore saving fuel.
